About Our DVD’s

As a valued customer, it is important that you know that our DVD’s are manufactured using the best processes available today.

Once each film is completed, the master DVD is sent overseas for glass pressing.

Glass mastering or metal mastering is known as a replicated DVD. It is of the finest quality.

Our DVD’s are not burnt on a computer, such as you might do at home.

Glass mastered DVD’s are designed to last for at least 100 years, and are more costly to make.

As our DVD’s appeal to a niche market only, not the mass movie market, we only manufacture limited production runs of our films. By contrast, major movies when supplied to the public are also glass mastered, but in enormous print runs, thus reducing the cost of production.

Because we choose to glass master our DVD’s, it will cost you a little more, but it means that you will get exactly the same quality and longevity that you would by purchasing a big budget movie.

Once the DVD glass mastering process is completed, the product is sent back to Australia for screen printing to the front of the disk. Before that process begins, a local Australian graphic designer submits artwork for approval and the printing process begins.

At the same time another Australian printing firm using an offset printing process provides a wrap around cover for the DVD disk on quality 150 gsm gloss art paper.

Another firm assembles the disk into the DVD box and inserts the cover by mchine. Eventually the completed product comes back to us, and is ready for sale for your enjoyment.

So whilst you might pay a little more than the massed produced big budget movies, you can be assured that any Viewmark Film is produced with passion and with dedication.

We are, and always will be, passionate about Australian transport history. As a valued customer we know that you are too. So that’s why we endeavour to provide you with the best and most interesting historical content in all our films and the best in product manufacture.

After all, isn’t that what you would expect from us?

In time we would expect that our documentaries will translate into collector’s items. This is already evidenced by the fact that libraries are already purchasing our DVD’s for their historical and pictorial content.

Viewmark Films Australia specialises in preserving Australian transport history.

Why? Because of our dedication, passion and of course, that’s what we do best.
